Google reviews via NFC: setup, costs and requirements
An NFC review display stores a link to a business’s Google review page. Guests hold an NFC-enabled phone near the display to open that link. NFC makes access easier; a review is only created when the guest chooses to submit it.

Scanless at a glance
- One display
- €12.90 · including VAT, setup app and shipping in Germany
- Recurring charges
- No Scanless subscription or sales commission.
- For your guests
- An NFC-enabled phone, internet access and a Google account to leave a review. No Scanless app needed.
How does an NFC Google review display work?
The NFC chip contains the review link. At close range, a phone reads it and prompts the guest to open it. The display does not assign stars, write reviews or replace a Google Business Profile. Guests need a Google account to leave a review, but do not need the Scanless app.
What are the requirements?
- Business: a Google Business Profile with reviews enabled.
- Setup: the Scanless NFC app on an NFC-enabled iPhone running iOS 17 or later; internet access for business search.
- Guests: an NFC-enabled smartphone and internet to open the Google page; a Google account to leave a review.
How to set up Scanless
- Open the Scanless NFC app on your iPhone.
- Search for the correct Google Business Profile and check the business and location.
- Write the review link to the NFC display using the app.
- Test the display with a second smartphone. Check that the correct review page opens before placing it on the counter.

NFC or a QR code?
Both can lead to the same review page. NFC is read by bringing a compatible phone close; a QR code is scanned with a camera. Your guests’ devices and a correct link matter most. Using the Scanless display requires NFC.
Genuine reviews, submitted voluntarily
Ask customers for an honest review of their actual experience. Do not offer discounts or gifts for reviews or require a particular star rating. Google prohibits incentives for reviews. An NFC display does not guarantee more reviews or better rankings. Google: tips to get more reviews.
The link does not open — what should you check?
First check NFC support, internet access and the phone’s NFC antenna position. Try without an obstructing case and with another device. If the wrong business page opens, check the selected profile and save the correct link again. Contact us at hallo@scanless.de.
